Family Friendly Biking

family friendly biking

Obviously, everyone on our team loves bike riding and we’re going to presume that if you’ve made your way to this blog then you love bike riding too. It’s a fantastic hobby and is one of few that can be enjoyed by every member of the family but finding the perfect place can be a struggle since we highly doubt you want your children hurtling down the side of Mount Snowdon at 80mph! Luckily we’re here to help and in this blog, you’ll be able to find some fantastic places to ride with the whole family with minimal traffic, some picturesque scenery and points of interest.

Brecon Beacons National Park
Grab the family, grab a picnic basket grab the bikes and off you go. This is truly a simple and fun ride that concludes with a great picnic area to enjoy after your ride. You can give the kids some freedom since the trail just follows the canal so if you want a low stress outing with the whole family then this is a great place to do it.

Staffordshire Peak District
This is a favourite of Staffordshire locals and one that lots of family’s have completed. The track is 8 miles long so is quite a long ride for children but there are plenty of places to stop for a picnic or explore some of the cool rock formations on the track if your kids start to get tired.

 The First and Last Trail
This trail is located in Cornwall and is a great ride for all ages although younger children may find the seven-mile section more enjoyable than the 25 mile track since 25 miles is a very long way for younger kids. This coastal trail is a great place to explore some of the culture of Cornwall with a variety of beautiful shops, fishing ports and the like.

Bewl Water
This is a beloved track by the people of Britain, a twelve-and-a-half-mile long ride full of stunning scenery and predominantly off road trails, although a couple sections are on quiet country roads so just be mindful of your child’s skill level if you come here. The main attraction here is the nature reserve that on a beautiful day can look almost unworldly, we highly recommend you and the whole family check out this wonderful trail!

A Final Word
And that’s your lot! Four fantastic tracks that the whole family will love. Be sure to let us know about any other trails you know of that the whole family can enjoy and if you’ve rode any of these tell us if you enjoyed them!
